It certainly helps to enjoy and know Spiderman as a character since there are lots of great references and jokes about the past of the character, but even without getting those it’s fantastic.  It made me feel sick on the big screen, but when it was on my laptop it was perfect. Just scaling issues I guess. That’s a nitpick, I know, but that’s what it takes to find a flaw in the film. Everything else about it is fucking amazing. My first introduction to Miles Morales was in the Ultimate Spiderman series Spiderverse episodes. I was hoping this movie would be close to those episodes. It far exceeded my expectations.

Lone story short, I walked out of the theater after the movie with zero regrets. That movie was so freaking good. The beginning of the movie where Spider-Man is summing up who he is and he does the dance from Spider-Man 3. That shit had me dying. Incredibly progressive for its time, extremely funny, great performances especially from James Stewart, and not a wasted word of dialogue.

The movie is perfectly placed in a way where you can rewatch a million times and the same room never gets boring. A practicing Buddhist can watch it and see an inspiring parable about their belief system.
