In fact, I’d say that my job is MORE secure because I speak Spanish. There’s such a need for bilingual SLPs that I pretty much feel irreplaceable. Of course, I’m in Florida where there’s a huge minority population, so the same may not be true elsewhere.

A Speech Language Pathologist A.K.A Peach Teacher Shirt, I really took it to heart and I always ask my students or their parents how to pronounce their names. But it still happens that some teachers at the school give nicknames or mispronounce names (say them how you would pronounce them in English), and it drives me crazy. I can’t imagine how you would feel having that happen to you even at the university level!
