I remember fearing my family finding out so badly that I could make myself vomit. I feared a bleak future without a career and family. I considered suicide. The psychological torture was real. And I was a kid in the early 00s in Texas.

My story wasn’t rare – almost every gay kid in my region in that era lived this. It’s just insane to me that people don’t get this.
