Depends on the person for me. Good guitarists usually can tell I’m meh, but around a campfire half, the crowd thinks I’m amazing(liquor helps). But if someone asks I’m quick to point out I’m not consistent enough to be a pro. My unpopular opinion is, it doesn’t matter how much you practice if it’s just a hobby you do for fun. I don’t want to “set goals” or timeliness… I just want to doodle around and enjoy myself. There are times when I’m nose to the grindstone 1 hour or more a day, and there are times when I’m tired and won’t practice for 2 days…. maybe ill suck forever, but who cares? This ain’t my job.
