Or a nice way of saying artists, let them starve. And no. Saying “it was just a joke” does not absolve you from culpability. Nope. I have never liked Metallica so I would never want their music, free or otherwise. And I make music and understand both how the industry works and the repercussions of what I’m saying. I also know how naive it is to think that they helped out artists, they helped out themselves and labels, not artists and certainly not music as an art form.
