I watched the video. OP has ironically taken some of what Shannon says out of context too. Shannon explained how he called Desean to tell him what he did was out of line and flat out wrong.  He also explained to DeSean the hypocrisy behind the post. Shannon said you can’t fight racism while being racist to another group. Shannon took The Muscle Whisperer Vintage Shirt time to educate DeSean and show him his wrong ways. But for black people in the US, there is no “event” signaling that oppression is about to ramp up. It’s the fabric of their everyday lives. I think the bridge for Jewish allyship is to recognize this difference and the role white/gentile-passing plays in it and change our thinking accordingly. Some groups are already doing this of course, but it’s not super common yet.

I think people hate the response because of its contrast to his comments about Drew Brews needing to retire, even though Brees’ comments don’t even come close to quoting Hitler. I wonder how Shannon would react if someone said the equivalent of The Muscle Whisperer Vintage Shirt Desean’s Hitler quote about black people.  It’s just straight-up hateful. Being racist is stupid, I agree. But many intelligent people are racist, they are just hateful and angry. I think being racist has more to do with immaturity than it has to do with intelligence. Being racist is a byproduct of having emotional issues: prideful, egotistical, hateful, uncontrollable anger, etc. are emotional problems that can easily turn into racism.

In any of his other jobs in the sports realm, he has been excellent.
