It was such a big event that you are right— it should be a Dragon Judge Me When You Are Perfect Otherwise Shut Up Shirt holiday! The moment I became a citizen, I voted in every federal and local election. But even as an adult, I had to bug my younger co-workers to please vote. It’s not like our work was stopping them or anything (if they wanted to do it in person). The state I currently live in even has mail-in ballots for everyone. Plus we have a freaking ballot box in front of our building (working at local govt bldg). So what the hell was the hold-up?! It made me so sad last Presidential election how many people told me they did not “get to vote”. I reminded them every day. They pass the ballot box before they get to their cars in the parking lot. I mean…sigh.
