I’m a former Manhattan Dane owner and I actually know both of these dogs and used to be part of their group. Their names are Stella and Artie. People frequently say that Danes are lazy and therefore great apartment dogs. This is definitely the case for older Danes. One time a dog ran behind the counter and was rummaging around. No apology or even an attempt to restrain the dog. Having owned many Danes in my life. I never found it hard to train them to go outside. Our Danes had plenty of puppies over the years and we only needed the indoor mat for like the first month or so, after that you could pretty regularly get them to go outside to use the bathroom. But, they are kinda dumb. So if there were multiple steps before being able to poop, I could see that confusing the heck out of them. They aren’t the best dogs to teach multi-step processes to.
